What is a Library of Things?

We are a service for the whole community and want to be available to ALL irrespective of their financial circumstances. So, just like a book library, you can sign up as a member and borrow Things you need for FREE.

We have a large variety of Things, from power tools to camping equipment. To view them all visit the ‘Things’ page.

If you bought a drill how often would you actually use it? What if, instead of buying that drill, you could borrow one instead?

The Library of Things still costs some money to run. We hope that if you are someone who can afford it you will make a donation or take out our Supporter membership so that everyone can use the Library well into the future. We have up to £200 per month of costs to cover. Receiving this amount would ensure our future viability .

We rely on members returning items on time for others to use. We will extend a loan to the maximum allowed per Thing but not beyond then. Fees will be incurred at a rate of £1 per day per Thing.
